New Website Takes a Stand for Emo Kids After Recent Riots in Mexico

Los Angeles (PRWEB) March 30, 2008 -- Beginning in early March, several hundreds of people have gathered in riots against emo kids. In Queretaro, a city 160 miles north of Mexico City with nearly 1.5 million residents, many residents are taking a stand against the dyed hair (most often black), eye makeup wearing (yes even men!) individuals.

These riots have led to police protection for the 'minority.' The kids whom are deemed 'emo' are organizing to demonstrate against the violence. Many have reportedly met with police Wednesday. "They're organizing to defend their right to be emo," said Daniel Hernandez of LA Weekly.

The variation of fashion and musical taste that is called emo began with bands such as Death Cab for Cutie and Brand New taking popularity in the last 10 years. LUV-EMO.com is a new created site to show appreciation toward the individualism of their kind. This emo battle however is nothing new; subculture fights have been apparently since the time of the hippies and Altamont Music Festival.

Mexico, however, associated being emo with being homosexual. Anti-emo websites have been created to counter against the workings of LUV-EMO.com, a website created to showcase the reality of what emo is and what it stands for. The website includes a variety of categories for web browsers including emo fashion, emo music, emo pictures and an emo forum.

Education through example, Luv-emo.com is living proof that emo exists and isn't going away anytime soon.

False Claims to Undeveloped Land in Cabo San Lucas Reserved for Protecting Area's Endangered Sea Turtles Raise More Flags about Mexico's Crime and C
Earlier this month, Baja California Sur state officials claimed hundreds of acres of natural beachfront property in Cabo San Lucas, rightfully belonging to local businessman and longtime conservationist, René Pinal, along with his family and team of investors. Despite evidence of forged and altered land titles presented by the company claiming ownership over the land, Baja California Sur state officials proceeded to clear Pinal's land last week, while actually reversing his charges against him. (Case Number: LPZ/006/AES/2007) Pinal, who has been a well-respected environmental activist and businessman for over 18 years, has left the majority of his 2,000 acres of coastal land undeveloped in a conscientious effort to protect the region's ...

The number-one answer we give is that we simply could no longer afford to live in America, so we found a country where we could, and moved there. We found ourselves in a position not unlike many Americans: A major illness strikes, unexpectedly, and though insured and with incomes, the cost of funding the illness simply becomes too much.

Living In Mexico: Sugar And Spice But Not Always Nice Part 5
There is a great restaurant in town where I love to eat steak. It is cheap, though they don't offer the best cuts of meat. However, the steak is tender, comes with a load of sides, and is cooked perfectly for my tastes. It is a popular place and listed in all the guidebooks. I've even referred people to it. The ambience is 20th-century jazz and very classy. The location is also perfect and easy as pie to find.
